I have a bachelors in math education and unless you're a millionaire or financially well off, I don't get why anyone would get a pure math degree. It's as good as getting a philosophy degree. At least with a philosophy degree, you can think freely and broadly and apply it to the real world whereas a pure math just burns brain cells, only you and the select students who can't make it in applied math or computer science care about it. Get an applied math degree. I went for math education because I was exposed to computers and CS late in life, so I want to emphasize on CS ways of reasoning and problem solving like algorithms, flowcharts, pseudocode etc with my students in my math class.

As an Englishman who lives in Quebec, I think French Canada hates the English! Everything is in French now, illegal to speak English at work, illegal to call your business an English name, illegal to have an English sign on a building.
